I watched a documentary the other night on the making of "Animal House". The entire cast continually reflected on how polarizing, exciting and entertaining John Belushi was in the movie, as well as off screen.
What I didn’t know but they almost scrapped the movie because they were worried about racist overtones. John Landis decided to get Richard Pryor to give his honest opinion. He watched it and thought it was hilarious! “You white people are crazy!” They went ahead and released it…
Thinking back to shows like SNL in the late ‘70s reminds me how side-splitting it was watching the Samarai swordsman series! Dan Aykroyd’s imfamous statement, “Jane, you ignorant slut!” made me laugh for several years.
Of course, in those days as a teenager, by the time SNL came on Saturday nights I was in rare form. I wish life was that simple today.

Same thing as Train wreck TV. Some families self-destruct for millions of people to watch. The Goselins (on Jon and Kate Plus Eight) and all their recent problems, for example. Families become famous, dysfunctional celebrities before our very eyes and ears.

We had to have the garage door repaired. The Sears repairman told us that one of our problems was that we did not have a 'large' enough motor on the opener. I thought for a minute, and said that we had the largest one Sears made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower.
He shook his head and said, 'Lady, you need a 1/4 horsepower.'
I responded that 1/2 was larger than 1/4.
He said, 'NO, it's not… Four is larger than two..'
We haven't used Sears repair since.

My daughter and I went through the McDonald's take-out window and I gave the clerk a $5 bill. Our total was $4.25, so I also handed her a quarter.
She said, 'you gave me too much money.'

She sighed and went to get the manager who asked me to repeat my request.
I did so, and he handed me back the quarter, and said 'We're sorry but they could not do that kind of thing.'
The clerk then proceeded to give me back $1 and 75 cents in change..

I don’t understand why the President needs to tax and spend to help the people when it’s obvious to the civilized world that he is accomplishing the exact opposite.
In his speech Monday to the AMA on reforming health care in America, he made a comment that concerned me, “...we will keep this promise to the American people…" .
Looking at his track record, I’m having a difficult time believing “them”.
First, the President promised he would not raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. Where to start? A tobacco tax, proposed Cap & Trade (Energy) Tax and a proposed tax on current health benefits. In addition, his budget proposes about $1 Trillion in new taxes over the next 10 years.
The President promised that the Stimulus Bill would save or create between 3 & 4 million jobs. The bill was rushed through Congress and signed so fast, no one read it. Now, the 0bama administration has already admitted that the Stimulus Bill is not working as planned. We’re talking about $787 billion dollars for the primary purpose of creating or saving 3-4 million jobs. Excuse me, not only are the government projections wrong, they are way wrong! How can our government’s experts be so far off?
TARP? Go ahead and write off $700 billion. It paid off unions, bankers, insurance companies, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the IMF, special interest groups, Chinese associates and other entities of political opportunism. It was the biggest payoff in the history of the world!
The 0bama administration now is projecting the cost of health care reform, at $1 trillion for a ten-year term.
Do you know how we will pay for health care reform? No one does, it's a secret.I would love to give President 0bama carte blanch on health care reform if he would go ahead and first reform programs already ineffectively administered; such as, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, education, welfare, labor, taxation, USPS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, congressional waste, campaign finance, border security, prisons and crime.House Ways & Means Chairman Charles Rangel says, ““We have a problem in not wanting to attract enough negative attention to the bill in terms of the pay-fors. Cops are killers! Dog killers!
San Diego's City Beat:‘Peeples waited until they circled back to the front of his house, at which point he opened his back door to investigate. That's when his dog, a three-year-old Staffy named Eygpt ran out. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, except that one of the police officers had left the backyard gate open. The dog ran out, and down Peeple's driveway toward the officers, at which point they shot it three times. Even the police concede the dog never attacked. They shot it as it was running toward them.
'Around noon on Tuesday, Dec. 2, [Demarkus] Peeples was watching TV at home when he heard a knock at the front door. When he looked out the door’s top window, he saw a group of men standing on his porch wearing jeans and T-shirts, a couple of them looking a little ratty. To get a better look, he went to a side window and peeked through the drawn blinds. “Honestly, they looked like they were transients,” he said.
The men, it ends up, were undercover narcotics officers who were there on a complaint about drug activity at that address—Peeples was later told that it had to do with a “chemical smell.” Peeples said the men—he estimates there were six—never announced who they were.'
It only gets worse from there. The police then arrested Peeples on the charge of assault with a deadly weapon—the weapon being his now dying dog. Peeples says they then euthanized his dog, despite his explicit instructions not to. ‘ More at Reason

New Pledge of Allegiance
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore because the word 'God' is mentioned, a kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
