What's good for the goose?

~ I noticed that President Obama ordered our intelligence agencies to give a full report on Russia’s efforts to influence the 2016 election. While they're at it, I would like to see a detailed report on Middle Eastern countries' efforts to influence the 2008 and 2012 elections.

~ Democrats are pushing that Trump personally pay for security at his New York residence. Of course, it was okay for Joe Biden to charge the Secret Service $26,400 a year in rent to stay at a cottage next to his home in Delaware, not to mention the cost of his security detail…

~ The issue concerning minimum wage will force fast food restaurants and other chains to automate their kitchen and front counters, which is not that difficult, but expensive. I predict they will reduce their payroll by 65% and few liberals will complain or boycott. High ideals don’t always triumph over reality.

~ When discussing the death penalty, there is a huge divide between high ideals and true justice. Idealists want incarceration for 6-20 years (life or less) and let them return to society. Justice would dictate an eye for an eye, death in the same manner they chose to murder their victim.

There is an alternate justice: when releasing convicted murderers, rapists and child molesters, they should be made to live next door to the idealists who advocate leniency. It wouldn’t take a very long for them to rethink their viewpoint.

~ I’m not a big Ben Affleck fan, but I will be disappointed if he isn’t nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in “The Accountant”. The Academy probably won’t allow the movie to be nominated due to the violence and theme, but his acting was top notch. IMDB rates the flick as 7.6 out of 10, but I rate it a 10 and one of the top 3 movies I’ve seen this year. Duuuuuuude!
