DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN TO SEE THIS MOVIE! This is not a feel good movie!
Language was terrible, MF used at least 3 dozen times. Violence level was extreme, making Arnold Schwarzenegger movies look like "The Sound of Music". Dysfunctional family is actually a group of psychotic sociopathic criminals.
The religious aspect is not one of spirituality. Secular brainiacs will process the possibility of immortality through transferring human consciousness via computer to a robotics cpu.
Although somewhat entertaining, I would not have spent the coin to watch this on the big screen. Consider yourself warned..

Yes, most sci-fi flicks are not-a-so-good these days. I downloaded Them! last night (1955) as well as Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Also enjoyed Her with Joaquin Phoenix and Predestination. Both of those deal with sexual themes (somewhat) but nothing totally in your face (or your ears).
I don't think it will ever be possible to transfer one's consciousness into a machine. Even if we are able to record our thought processes and memories up until the time of death, it still remains a facsimile of the original. You just can't duplicate soul. Additionally, a computer program only simulates the real thing, but you probably already know that.
Oh, and thanks for the head's up on Chappie. I'm such a sci-fi freak I'll probably get around to watching it on Veetle or downloading the torrent anyway. I am tired of being bludgeoned by profanity and a stream of action that makes it difficult to keep up with the story. I still don't understand what those Transformer movies are all about. I thought they were toys.
