I'm sure it's all irrelevant...

18,000 Nurses walk off the job on strike in Northern California… Even though replacement nurses are in place, I hope you don’t have loved ones in their facilities. I read where the union states it’s all about patient-care standards and safeguards for Ebola. I would think this an admirable event if there was not a raise in pay or benefits involved.
"You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." - Rahm Emanuel
The European Space Agency seems to have landed a spacecraft on a comet. The Control Center in Germany picked up its signal just after lunch Tuesday. Good for them! I guess the next step will be trying to figure out how to change its existing path, just in case the need may arise...
If the Democratic Party “fashions itself” as a defender of the middle-class, working family, why do they focus so much attention on low-income groups? Seems like the only people getting pay raises, other than government and union workers, are low income and the elite. With the way things are going, I would be surprised if the Dems get the middle-class vote in the next Presidential election, notwithstanding union and govt workers.
Latest study says lightning strikes will increase by nearly 50% in the U.S. by the end of the century as our world gets warmer. That may be a blessing since we will probably learn to harness lightning for green energy. It could be a major power source by then. I can only imagine what the air and water quality will be like…
Well, it looks as if another militant group is joining ISIS (an Al Qaeda rival) to overthrow Egypt. They call it a holy war to get men to fight and die, but do not forget the stolen money, oil, seized weapons and jihadi-world prestige that they attain. For some reason, it almost always comes down to money, power and/or prestige.
Why am I thinking we won’t invade send more troops (en masse) to fight occupy the Middle East again until oil goes back over $90 a barrel?
