Romney flip-flops on Obamacare
He likes part of it now...

Adopting a new tone, Mitt Romney on Sunday said he would retain elements of President Obama’s health care overhaul, blamed Republicans as much as Democrats for the “mistake” of agreeing to automatic cuts in military spending and said Mr. Obama’s national security strategy had made America in “some ways safer.”

I’m not getting rid of all of health care reform,” Mr. Romney said, while emphasizing that he planned to replace the president’s plan with his own. “There are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place. New York Times

Now that he's the Republican nominee for president, his message is changing. For all the American puppets people who thought he was for repealing Obamacare and less government (spending & control), this should tell the future of both if he's elected.

Let's go ahead and gut America now instead of drawing it out with a Republican agenda, which is just a slower move in the same direction...

Arctic ice melting at 'amazing' speed,
scientists find

By David Shukman
Science Editor, BBC News

Scientists in the Arctic are warning that this summer's record-breaking melt is part of an accelerating trend with profound implications.

'Unprecedented'

The Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI) is at the forefront of Arctic research and its international director, Kim Holmen, told the BBC that the speed of the melting was faster than expected.

"It is a greater change than we could even imagine 20 years ago, even 10 years ago," Dr Holmen said.

"And it has taken us by surprise and we must adjust our understanding of the system and we must adjust our science and we must adjust our feelings for the nature around us."

During a visit to the port, one of the scientists involved, Dr Edmond Hansen, told me he was "amazed" at the size and speed of this year's melt.

"As a scientist, I know that this is unprecedented in at least as much as 1,500 years. It is truly amazing - it is a huge dramatic change in the system," Dr Hansen said.

"This is not some short-lived phenomenon - this is an ongoing trend. You lose more and more ice and it is accelerating - you can just look at the graphs, the observations, and you can see what's happening."

Here's my take on the issue...but as always, I reserve the right to be wrong!

Average American stance: Jimmy Crackcorn and I don't care as long as my Bud Lite stays ice cold and you don't interfere with my weekends.

Even though I don't consider myself a tree hugger, there look to be several possible results in the earth's ecological equation that may include the following:

  • America the beautiful desert...

  • Watch the human race get sick and die from ozone depletion and solar radiation, as well as toxic air and water.

  • Go underground

  • Create a synthetic environment or biodome.

  • Change our consumption of natural resources.

The easiest quick-fix that would solve many short-term problems is switching from gasoline and diesel to natural gas. Some of the benefits include:

  • It's the cleanest of all fossil fuels.

  • It's more dependable and economical than electricity. It also doesn't create unhealthy electrical fields.

  • It's plentiful in America

  • It can reduce our dependence on imported oil and keeps tens of billions of dollars in America.

  • The conversion process in this country would decrease unemployment, creating many more new jobs. This especially true of creating new infrastructure for a nationwide distribution system for our vehicles. Historical benefits.

  • It's more efficient. The entire cycle of producing, processing, transporting and using energy is considered, natural gas is delivered to you with a "total energy efficiency" of about 90%.

  • It won't pollute the water supply or ground since it is lighter than air and dissipates into the atmosphere.

I believe 3 of the main reasons it's not a top priority here in America are:
  • Current short-term profiteering of oil companies and their related vendors.

  • Current short-term profiteering of the Military Industrial Complex and their related vendors.

  • Short-term, it doesn't create billions in political contributions as the two previous industries currently provide.

I am not asking anyone to agree with me. Although, I do recommend you investigate this and other related phenomena for yourself. No one cares what you or I, either one, think or believe unless we can show evidence or research that may validate our position.

Ignorance is not a productive basis to formulate one's system of beliefs...but you can always resort to name calling if it makes you feel better.

CBO: Under Current Law, Unemployment Will Rise Next Year to 9.1%

(CNSNews.com) – The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is projecting that if changes in federal taxing-and-spending policies already enacted and set to take effect at the beginning of next year do in fact take place, the unemployment rate will climb to 9.1 percent.

In a report released on Aug. 22, An Update to the Budget and Economic Outlook: Fiscal Years 2012 to 2022, CBO’s baseline projections show that by the fourth quarter of 2013 the national unemployment rate will be 9.1 percent.

So much for hope, but we're still seeing a lot of change! Unfortunately, it's for the worse...brought to you by our elected officials!

I'm just glad that bad news of this kind won't effect anyone's weekend ~ unless they're looking for work...

Do you really think you can
handle the truth about America?

If so, then you must watch the documentary Ethos, narrated by Woody Harrelson. This film makes 2016: Obama’s America look like Sesame Street. I’m not a fan of Harrelson’s political ideology or his performance, but the content of this film was like finding the missing pieces to a puzzle that have been lost for 20 years.

The most eye-opening moment for me is when I realized that it is physically impossible to maintain or increase our standard of living through the consumption of natural resources when world population doubles every 35 years!

It shows that our government wants us to stop worrying and keep shopping. What they don’t tell us is that if we don’t change, we die. Our biosphere is in decline and life cannot be sustained on this earth if we continue poisoning our own air, water and soil. The number one offender: The automobile.

A significant date is introduced: 2015. That is when they predict we will either reach “peak oil” or production will not meet demand. Either way, prepare for oil to double this decade, whereby creating horrific inflation on consumer goods, especially necessities like food, water and clothing.

The film also gives convincing reasoning through insiders at the Pentagon that we didn’t go to war in Iraq or Afghanistan to fight terrorism, but to occupy these countries and protect free flowing oil to America. It addresses the conflict of interests in politics, the Federal Reserve, corporate power, how the news media is controlled, poverty, warfare, pollution and a gullible American public.

Unlike a doomsday prophecy, this film gives a simple solution to these problems, but I fear Americans will be too lazy and self-centered to make the effort to change. As we watch our standard of living decline over this decade, we will either wake up and take action or let our children and grandchildren suffer the consequences of our denial and complacency.

This critique has barely skimmed the surface of the blood-filled meat in this 78-minute documentary. Whatever viewpoint you hold, this will either change it, as it did mine, or validate it.

I don’t care how you do it, just watch it for yourself and you make the call! I caught it online at Netflix; watched it twice just to make sure I wasn't dreaming...

Let's Praise Muslims
and the Holy Qu'ran!

2 things:
1. Obama has never admitted he is of Islamic faith. This was chopped into the video.

2. When I think of all the ways he has disrespected so many sects of Americans, creating conflict, dissension and division, and then watch him in this video, I gain greater insight and perspective about the man who is our President.

His passion, admiration and reverence when speaking about the people of Islamic faith and Middle Eastern countries, as well as the "Holy Qu'ran", are most revealing.

10,000 at Risk in Yosemite
Deadly Mouse-borne Virus...

Overnight guests who stayed in Yosemite’s insulated “Signature” cabins anytime between June and August could have been exposed to a deadly mouse-borne virus that has killed two and sickened four.

Park officials have sent letters and email warnings to about 3,000 people who reserved the cabins, but since they fit four, up to 7,000 more people may have been exposed to the deadly virus. Rangers say that panicked campers have been flooding them with more than 1,000 calls a day since the warning.

Called hantavirus, the illness begins with flu-like symptoms before degenerating into respiratory and organ failure—36 percent of those who contract the virus die. The Daily Beast

Furthermore...

The illness that begins as flu-like symptoms can take six weeks to incubate before rapid acute respiratory and organ failure.

There is no cure, and anyone exhibiting the symptoms must be hospitalized. More than 36% of people who contract the rare illness will die from it.

All of the victims confirmed so far stayed in the high-end, insulated "Signature" tent cabins in the park's historic Curry Village section between mid-June and early July.

The report revealed 18% of mice trapped for testing at various locations around the park were positive for hantavirus.

In 2011, half of the 24 U.S. hantavirus cases ended in death. But since 1993, when the virus first was identified, the average death rate is 36%, according to the CDC. USA Today

Lawless in Paradise
OR
Generating Revenue off Hwy 114

DEPUTY IN PARADISE – The city of Paradise crunched numbers to hire a “resident” deputy at a budget workshop Tuesday. City officials allotted an annual salary of $20,000 for a deputy, $3,600 for a municipal judge and $1,200 for a court clerk. The council also budgeted an additional $1,000 for legal consulting fees and $3,600 for fuel. Officials noted that some of the expenses, such as the legal consulting fee, would only be utilized if a citation “went to trial.” The city projected $25,000 to be generated in revenue, largely through citations. Wise County Messenger Update

~ ~ ~

It should only take 14 citations a week to generate the projected revenue. I don't believe they will stop there. Government has a way of finding new streams of revenue and the inclination to increase the flow, not cut the spending. I guess it has to be done since Chico is doing it...

Just another reason to take 380 to Decatur on the way to the Metroplex.

More proof we need to
get out of the Middle East

The following article is the latest proof our troops don't belong in the Middle East. Actually, reading the Red Team report made me physically ill. Our presence is only making things worse. The cultural differences are so great, even our Afghan allies are murdering American soldiers at the rate of one a week! DC

Army Report Buried Islamic Motivations
For Afghan Murders of US Troops

Andrew G. Bostom

On May 12, 2011 a US Army "Red Team" issued an unclassified report which purported to explain the burgeoning rash of murderous attacks (which have since escalated even further, still) by Afghan National Army (ANA) members on US and other NATO troops.

Although the report is dominated by apologetic, cultural relativist drivel which attempts, in vain, to explain away these acts of murder committed against the US and NATO troops by their by ANA "allies," it also includes a crudely buried, sub rosa truthful narrative.

What General Allen willfully ignores was laid out, albeit clumsily camouflaged, using plain language, fifteen months ago in the "Red Team" report.

Based upon extensive interviews, US and NATO troops, as the report notes, were both disgusted with, and highly (and justifiably) suspicious of, the Islamically-sanctioned practices and behaviors of their Afghan military allies, and Afghan civilians.

Would you convert or be killed?

Instead, I sometimes think God has put us apostles on display, like prisoners of war at the end of a victor’s parade, condemned to die. We have become a spectacle to the entire world—to people and angels alike.
