After watching the news,
my problems aren't so bad...

~ A Bridgeport resident and former school bus driver got 30 years for pleading guilty for sexual abuse of a child. Letting your kids go to the public swimming pool unattended is not safe anymore…

~ It looks like Wise County has its share of recurring Constable problems after one was indicted on multiple felony charges. He hasn’t had his day in court, so I will not pronounce judgment. Albeit, they don’t bring these types of charges if they don’t have significant evidence. It’s not a matter of if you get caught, it’s a matter of when...

I guess the writing was on the wall since the commissioners deputized reserve Constables the week before the indictment went public. That issue was nipped in the bud.

~ I’m not a big fan of burn bans, but based on the intelligence level of those who start fires and the plague of wildfires nationwide, I can understand their implementation.

~ Would anyone like to guess the number of vehicle accidents county wide this month. I’m looking for a number, not a colorful metaphor…

~ Although I don’t do Facebook very often, I have become very weary of adding friends. I don’t want to hurt peoples’ feelings, but I don’t want to be hacked or have my identity duplicated. What a world we live in…

~ I thought preachers had a very difficult job since small community congregations tend to want to run their ministry and their life. It looks like school superintendents have similar issues since few people can agree on the way anyone runs a school system. Either way, most of them earn their pay just by appeasing the masses, which is not a small task.

~ I wonder how much revenue the state will receive from fines and fees related to the citations and arrests made from the illegal contraband coming out of Colorado? I'm thinking 10s of millions...is this a low estimate?

Ya got me on that last point. It took me a sec to figure out what illegal contraband you were talkng about. Omigosh, it's legal over there, but not over here. I'm old and stupid, admittedly, but would still like to see it de-criminalized in Texas. I've seen too many lives wasted -- not in getting high, but as a result of onerous laws and drug convictions. It also has given law enforcement the excuse to acquire military equipment, circumvent laws, become judge, jury, and executioner, spy on people, confiscate property, and build a money-making law industry around marijuana arrests and convictions. Nothing good has come out of the war on drugs.

What Tommy said and to add my 2 cents: 10s of millions would sound way too high; as in if it were that high- it MIGHT be worth it (for the sake of the argument).

I do know when I come back from Colorado or New Mexico you run a gauntlet after you cross the state line of eveybody from locals to DPS and sheriff departments and every so often you will see kids standing away from their vehicles with cops waiting presumably for other cops with a dog.
