Sand Creek was killing for sport and trophies. The testicle bags from braves were used for tobacco pouches. The battle of the Washita is a misnomer. It was the slaughter of old men, women and children to rehabiliate the reputation of George Armstrong Custer who had been suspended from the army for desertion of his troops. His wife got him the indian campaign gig. I guess she got him killed. Nice work..
