Lockheed to comply with Whitehouse
No layoff notices
until after the election

Defense contractor Lockheed Martin heeded a request from the White House today — one with political overtones — and announced it will not issue layoff notices to thousands of employees just days before the November presidential election. ABC News

I must be getting hard of hearing since this news is a month old and I am just now being made aware of it. 
Of course Lockheed will comply, they're completely dependent on government funding or approval of sales to other countries.

Yeah that's about 6 weeks old but whats interesting is by Federal law they have to announce layoffs within a given time prior and this falls within the time frame.
