Lawless in Paradise
OR
Generating Revenue off Hwy 114

DEPUTY IN PARADISE – The city of Paradise crunched numbers to hire a “resident” deputy at a budget workshop Tuesday. City officials allotted an annual salary of $20,000 for a deputy, $3,600 for a municipal judge and $1,200 for a court clerk. The council also budgeted an additional $1,000 for legal consulting fees and $3,600 for fuel. Officials noted that some of the expenses, such as the legal consulting fee, would only be utilized if a citation “went to trial.” The city projected $25,000 to be generated in revenue, largely through citations. It should only take 14 citations a week to generate the projected revenue. I don't believe they will stop there. Government has a way of finding new streams of revenue and the inclination to increase the flow, not cut the spending. I guess it has to be done since Chico is doing it...

Just another reason to take 380 to Decatur on the way to the Metroplex.

or people could just obey the law... wouldn't that be just as much of a middle finger to the "man" as changing routes.

I'm with Denney on this one, it's a revenue source during rough economic times. Now when civilization breaks down completely, these citation officers can easily transition into border guards. Your papers, please?

Seriously, plenty of towns in Texas are historically known to be speedtraps. It's the basis for some mucho gory horror films, if you're into that kind of thing. But I digress.

My suggestion is to avoid Dallas altogether and only fight the traffic to Ft. Worth for (1) flights to South America (2) dinner at Joe T's or possibly (3) a date with Sharon Stone.

When the heck is TxDoT or WC going to finish the 2123 mess east of Cottondale?

The Grapevine 121 connector will be done sooner...

Indeed...

What we have just witnessed is a classic case of psychological projection.

Choosing this particular avenue of insult is quite remarkable and qualifies as reasonable suspicion to conduct a full law enforcement investigation of the I.P. address in question.

Do it, Denney.

What we have is a solid confession from 5:53.

No telling what an investigation will uncover.

Hey, what happened to my post? The one informing all of a troll? I don't know if I was 5:53 or not, but I confess to nothing. An investigation of me might just open a can of whoop-ass.

I believe that an investigation is sure to prove my innocence and will unequivocally prove to the court that not only is 11:23 the real culprit, but that kangaroo courts exist everywhere, not just the US Supreme Court. I'm innocent, I'm telling ya, ya gotta believe me!
