Do you support traditional values?

Stand with Chick-fil-A on August 1
in Support of Traditional Marriage

Just a few days ago, Dan Cathy, President of Chick-fil-A, affirmed his stance on the sanctity of traditional marriage. The restaurant chain has been, and continues to be, under a concerted attack from same-sex marriage advocates.

I applaud the courage of Cathy to take a bold stand for the biblical definition of marriage between a man and woman in a culture that has grown openly hostile to the Christian faith and its followers.

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has called for a National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day on Wednesday, August 1, to demonstrate support for the company. I would like to join with him, and ask that, if you live near one of their restaurants please drop by and let them know how much you appreciate them and their stand.

I have known Dan and his father, Mr. Truett Cathy, for many years, and I respect how their company was founded upon and operates by Christian values.

In the words of the bold, biblical prophet Daniel who refused to bow to the culture of his day: "The people who know their God will display strength and take action" (Daniel 11:32, NASB).

Thank you and God bless you.

Sincerely,

Franklin Graham

Mr. Cathy never condemned anyone, he just made a donation to a Christian group who supports traditional marriage and was venomously attacked by gay rights groups.

Mr. Graham is not asking Americans to condemn anyone, he's just asking us to show appreciation to Mr. Cathy and his choice to support traditional Christian values.

I, for one, don't remember ever eating at Chic-fil-A, but will make every effort to show support, stop by and buy a sandwich. The place is probably crawling with heterosexuals...

From the MSM, one would believe that CFA is all about hating on the gays - a ridiculous contention.

CFA is privately owned by people with Christian values, who, as is their right, stand up and express their beliefs. The stores are not discriminating against, or persecuting homosexuals in any way.

One of the refreshing experiences of going to a CFA store is that they understand and remember what customer service means. If you ask an associate for a drink refill, extra condiments, or substitution, the typical response is eye contact, a smile, and "Yes sir/ma'am, it would be my pleasure" as they complete the request. This is in stark contrast to the surly or apathetic assistance frequently encountered at other establishments.

The franchisees in Southlake and Watauga are some of the biggest civic boosters, generously giving free goods coupons (and/or event door prizes) to: Chamber of Commerce, school, Scout, and yes, church groups.

Make no mistake, there is a culture war raging. We can be on the sidelines, or we can be in the battle. An old military maxim tells us that an Army marches on its stomach.

I think I'll need a chicken sammich...

From now on whenever I have to form an opinion on an issue, I will ask myself " what would the guy making the chicken sandwich do? "

Chic-fil-A has noticeably better, faster, friendlier, and more efficient employees than any other fast food and pizza joint in town. You notice it especially on your second visit, the one when you're expecting to get screwed because your first visit went so well.

On your third visit, you'll begin to notice that the quality of people sitting in the restaurant is better (not class but general quality). It's like a conspiracy of decency of some sort. I keep going there to see how this magic is done.

I don't care for chicken.
