We have to go through a few years of dictatorship and what seems like oppressive leadership before we can break through to the glory of a global socialist state. There will be discomfort for those who refuse to cooperate. Oh, and it's going to take a while. They can't take away everybody's rights all at the same time, so it's a little here and a little there until they get to where they need to go.
Speaking of guns, remember what happened to that religious group down in Waco. Do you think the authorities will hesitate to raid individual gun owners in their homes? Don't you just love SWAT and the ATF when they're kicking down your door and telling the mother-in-law to take the position?
If all this is upsetting to you, bear in mind that both parties in our political system back this continued move towards globalism and the disintegration of liberty. Voting for your favorite candidate does not work anymore. The changes we see happening will occur regardless of how you feel about it. They have the guns, the strength of law, control of media... don't kid yourself, the game is fixed and the powers that be will have their way with us.
This is hollow point, non-Geneva compliant, ammo expressly for use against the U.S. civilian population (313 million people). Our government is arming itself against us.
@ Anon. July 9, 2012 8:32 AM The term now widely used in DHS, and U.S. detention facilities is "sovereign". Since 2009 DHS has been indoctrinating law enforcement culture with anti-citizen domestic terrorism rhetoric focused in good measure on returning veterans. Being a sovereign is not synonymous with being terrorist; but it sure scares the hell out of the feds.
When you post links to infowars, Alex Jones, or intelhub, you tend to lose credibility. Might I suggest www.skeptoid.com ... Maybe it'll help you sleep better at night and not die prematurely from a self imposed-stress ulcer. Have a nice day.
When you post links to infowars, intelhub, Alex Jones, or any of the like, you tend to lose credibility pretty quick. Might I suggest www.skeptoid.com. It might help you understand how outrageous some of your claims are. That and maybe you won't die from a self induced stress related heart attack.
Hey, Spanishwardonkey, what happens when you post links to infowars, intelhub, Alex Jones, or any of the like, you tend to lose credibility pretty quick.
It took you three minutes to rewrite that....and it wasn't verbatim.....hahaha.
Heh, so... where is the relevant article in the skeptoid site?
There is none. Quite a rebuttal.
I selected the infowars article because the author had the good sense to sum up the ammo purchases of this administration. Feel free to use other sources and do the math.
The hallmark of an elitist is the lofty dismissal of inconvenient truth. Outrageous indeed.
Yes I know, I'm just a sheep and not "enlightened" enough to see the grand plan of the Illuminati, or whatever organization it is that plans to take over 7 billion people. In my chosen profession, I use numbers, on a daily basis, to prove whether or not my solution to a problem is correct, and when applied properly, they are never wrong. I make this point to say that for me to take something as fact, and make a change in the way I do things, I need something concrete; not an airport in the Midwest (Denver International). You can make claims all day to try to support a position, but I have found that if you simply look at evidence without any prejudice one way or the other, if an idea sounds far fetched, 99.99% of the time it is so. I'm not saying you're ignorant for believing such things, as it is in our human nature to try to connect things to perceived threats. The cave man that hears a lion in every crunch in the grass will always live longer than the one that simply dismisses it as the wind. It's how we have evolved. I've always had a few questions for the conspiracy crowd that I can never get a straight answer for: 1) So if the government is planning to do whatever they're planning, what is their end game exactly? 2) Assuming that there is actually some "plan", how are they going to implement it? One might say the military, but even they have a conscience. And I also believe it would take more man power than that to take over our country. 3) I suppose they could simply kill most of the population with WMD's, but that goes back to the end game question. You now rule over nobody with an iron fist. Where are the producers in a such a society? 4) Surely a plan of this magnitude would involve hundreds, if not, thousands of people to execute, wouldn't you agree? And also wouldn't it stand to reason that there just might be a dozen or so folks involved that like to stroke their own egos? My point being is that people drink, and when they do, they say things they shouldn't. I find it hard to believe that if something sinister was in the works that somebody wouldn't have screwed up by now. 5) When is all of this going to take place exactly? There have been claims of the sort being made for decades, and yet, nothing has come of them. It sure would be handy to have a date, just so I know when I need to have my closet full of .308 and .45 ammo. 6) If there's any validity to these conspiracy claims, as some wish is to believe, then why haven't people simply "disappeared"? And I'm not talking one or two, here and there, I'm talking hundreds or perhaps thousands of "accidental" deaths. I know the conspiracy community has to be at least a few million strong, and with a following like that, again, it would stand to reason that many would have gotten "too close" to the grand plan. I could go on, but I won't. These are just some things to ponder before you go about life certain that some dark organization is coming to make us all slaves. I completely acknowledge the fact that I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it. So much so that I am literally betting my life on it. I get up, go to work, come home, and repeat. The last thing I'll close with is this: The human spirit is inherently good. People can become evil or choose to be evil. I'm also old fashioned in that I think good will always triumph over evil. Evil has landed some punches, but if you look at history, it has always lost. If such a thing were to actually take place, I have no doubt in my mind that the people would rise up in such a way that would make the revolutionary war look like a picnic. That side of man hasn't been seen in a long time, though we catch glimpses of it on the news when the people overthrow an oppressive regime. The human heart yearns for freedom, I have no doubt of this. And that, all of which I have typed on my phone, is why I can't bring myself to believe such claims.
I agree with much of your reasoning, although a few points I do not:
You state, "That side of man hasn't been seen in a long time, though we catch glimpses of it on the news when the people overthrow an oppressive regime."
You must have missed the facts... Do you have any idea how many times different regimes have carried out mass genocide in the last 150 years, either by war or otherwise? How many people have "disappeared", albeit not in the USA, but in other parts of the world? It is an amazing number, from Saddam Hussein exterminating Kurds with chemical weapons to African regimes, Hitler with Jews, ect, ect...
I also disagree that, "The human spirit is inherently good." since we gave the earth to the enemy after eating the forbidden fruit, although no proof exists of this action. Human beings are born selfish and must be taught to share and care...it's not a natural act.
Government is not the enemy, it's the handful people who control the government that breed corruption and ultimately want to control as many resources as possible.
The problem with facts is that just a few hundred years ago, it was a fact that the earth was flat. All facts are actually theory waiting to be disproved. Science fiction 50 years ago is now science fact...
The end game is a one world government. Since the beginning of time, someone has always wanted to control the world and scores have died in such pursuit.
Lastly, you write, "There have been claims of the sort being made for decades, and yet, nothing has come of them." There are so many predictions that have come to fruition it's not funny. Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev stated “We will bury you without firing a shot” 55 years ago, and here's the Communist agenda on how it will happen...
My closet is already full of 12 gauge shells and .7mm cartridges. I bought them because the price of them, in two years, will be twice what it is now. If you think a liberal mindset won't eventually take our guns and other liberties, go to YouTube and watch the guns being destroyed by the England authorities.
One day at a time your freedom is being eroded and not even the enemy knows the dates evil will be satisfied.

I think I'm about to become an "insurgent"...
The treaty is meaningless unless it is ratified by the Senate. I don't see that happening anytime soon and particularily after early November.
PS: The UN can come and get my guns if they have the stones. Given their military track record across the world I am not too worried.

Spanwankey,
Unfortunately, people could care less about credibility, they prefer opinion and entertainment.
Look who they elected for President...
I put more faith in the Infowars website than I do what comes out of the POTUS mouth!!!

I, too, perused the skeptoid website.
Great place for a laugh....or a cry if you're concerned for humanity. Pray for those folks.
Why would the government need 750 mil. Hollowpoints?
I'm hoping for counter-terrorism. Or, maybe we are about to seal our borders.
