Police Chaplains Told to Stop Invoking Jesus

For the past seven years Pastor Terry Sartain has ministered to police officers and their families in Charlotte, N.C. Whenever the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept. invited him to deliver an invocation, he prayed in “the name of Jesus.”

But not anymore.

Volunteer chaplains in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Dept. will no longer be allowed to invoke the name of Jesus in prayers at public events held on government property.

Major John Diggs, who oversees the chaplain program, told television station WSOC that the policy is a “matter of respecting that people may have different faiths and that it is not aimed at any one religion or denomination.” Fox News

I can't wait until they tell a Muslim Cleric he cannot invoke the name of Allah if he prays at a public function on government property. I don't know that they will be quite as agreeable...

And if we give any resistance at all we get the "well that's not very Christian of you" statement.

I dont know why people are more afraid of Christians than Muslims.

BTW.....when the Muslims are no longer the minority the atheists will be praying for the Christians to come back.

I don't think they can enforce that policy. Major John Diggs sounds like a real winner, doesn't he? A regular grinch.
