Someone more obnoxious
than Denney Crane?
No way!

Ken Hughes, in his letter to the editor in the WCM said, ‘“Simply put, today's "tea partiers" are clearly the most bigoted, white people in America.’

I have read Mr. Hughes rants for quite some time, allowing myself to agree to disagree with many of his opinions and ideals, which make me nauseous. After numerous letters to the editor, he has become easy to ignore, until now.

He chose to call all “tea partiers” bigots. How does a liberal end rational discussion? By name calling. There is only one problem. My 74 year old mother is a “tea partier”, and no one calls my mom a bigot; no one. You can call me anything you want, but you don’t call my mother names or infer her behavior is unladylike.

It looks as if he needs to remember that there are consequences to offensive public behavior, even with the right to free speech. If someone calls my mom a name that offends me, they got an ass whoopin coming.

I look forward to personally expressing my freedom of expression for disrespecting those Americans who have those same rights; of which, over 90% of them do not call names or behave inappropriately. Mr. Hughes is no friend of America and a bad example to my children and grandchildren. I'm sure he is a very lonely man.

The problem with “tea partiers”, Mr. Hughes, is they are people of action, not only words. Hide and watch...

Ken Hughes is such an idiot he fails to comprehend the fact that by calling all tea partiers, bigots he is being a bigot. I have come to expect Hughes' behaviour from elitist liberals.

bigot
–noun
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

You are exactly right DC. Liberals don't dare bring any facts to their arguments, they just resort to name calling and hope someone as uninformed as they are is listening.

Odd, I belong to a tea party group and our main focus is congress and all the publish or perish bills they don't write or read. Mr. Hughes really needs to get out more. Or maybe, just think back to the one great line in Good Morning, Vietnam......"You........BJ............"
If you are too young , google it, if you're older, you already know.

I agree with you about Hughes and have written several letters in rebuttal to the Messenger. Finally, I realized it was a waste of time as he seems not to have enough brain cells to be able to appeal to reason. The saddest part is I have read several letters from Mrs. Hughes and she seems to be the polar opposite of her husband. Her letters reflect a deep Christian faith and offer common sense. Go figure.

Poor old Ken is out of touch and is just a simple, stereotype liberal. I will apologize for him.

I have always wondered how Mrs. Hughes lives with such a nut. I can understand having some disagreements, but this guy is over the top. Just nuts.

"How does a liberal end rational discussion? By name calling."

Well then, how do YOU end rational discussion? By threats of physical violence. There is a HUGE difference between using the word bigot and stating "they got an ass whoopin coming...Hide and watch..."

I guess you aren't in the "90% of [Americans who] do not call names or behave inappropriately." I would call threats of physical violence to be inappropriate behavior and a bad example to my children and grandchildren.

Unfortunately, I think you've foolishly proven Mr. Hughes point for him.

Oh fiddle-faddle...do you really care what Mr. Hughes thinks? And if your Mama belongs to a "Tea Party" group I hardly think she needs you defending her.

By Mr. Hughes speaking out he is expressing his right to free speech and from what I've heard said (in the media) about Tea Party activists is that they have traveled beyond free speech right into a dangerous zone called treason. If they were a Black group they'd be called "Black Panthers" and driven underground or killed on the streets or imprisoned and branded terrorists. (I'm waiting for America to wake up and call a spade a spade...it's a treasonous group...even if many old southern women are in the forefront). It's similar to sending a kid out to do the kill because they won't be dealt with as harshly as an adult would be. Like...doesn't everyone love little old ladies and think they must be innocent. Give me a break. To me that simply congers up visions of simple women following their men. It seems most of these women have redneck bigoted men to follow. At the very least they are anti-government, disrespectful and certainly have not been good sports about losing the Presidential race. They have verbally stomped on President Obama and his plans and policies since before he was elected and have not let up since. They have twisted and criticized everything he
has tried to set straight that Republican rule has done to damage or economy and country at large.

To me these righteous Tea Party members are simply mimicking the early Ku Klux Clan members and other sub-culture groups. Part of me says…you go folks and part of me sees only the violent nature of their behavior and ideals. Packs have always concerned me. I see such events as riots, Jim Jones death trap, and innocent people being shoved aside so those who have can keep it from those who don’t. These people in the Tea Parties are certainly self-motivated and are not concerned with what is happening to the rest of our society. Every thing that President Obama is trying to do for the millions and millions of poor working class people the Tea Party tries to smash down.

It really irks me when these “Tea Party” groups try to say they are trying to save our world…our way of life and they say they are Godly people. What I see is a lot of greedy people trying to preserve THEIR way of life and fuck the rest of society. They are concerned with their wallets not with human life. And they certainly do not share the same God that true Christians do. I could never envision Jesus in the midst of a Tea Party meeting.

I cared about my Mother too…didn’t mean I backed up all of her goofy ideas or ideals. And lest we forget…all of us are bias or bigoted about something.

These come to mind from your other post...

"Life is like a jar of Jalapeno peppers, what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow"

and

"All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Obviously Mr. Huges is not hiding and watching. Elsewise you folks wouldn't be so angry with him.

And finally..."Someone More Obnoxious than Denney Crane? No Way!"...

So what do you think? I think the lady at 3:27 was right on the nose...maybe another person's truth hurts.
