I will always take a stand again child abuse of any nature. I will not enable offenders by remaining silent, nor will I allow fear to control my life or beliefs.
If we don't stand up against injustice in any form, we should expect the same treatment when it happens to us.
A peaceful mind has no room for feelings of hate, guilt, resentment, jealousy or anger.

Regardless of the veracity of the claims, if that is written by his daughter, the guy has some REAL problems and should be dealing with them rather than running around with a gun and a badge getting into the middle of other people's problems.

Worked with Laura at the SO in 88'-89' while she was a dispatcher (fantastic). I could finish the book "Life in times of Wise Law Enforcement" (1976 to current) with this as the closing chapter.

It has always amazed me how people will believe statements from someone they have never met. None of the things about sex or violence on Laura's blog ever happened. I still love my daughter as much as any of my children and forgive her for the things she has said and written. Our family has tried for the past several years and will continue to try and get Laura help, as much as she will let us. But as much as it hurts me to say this, she is mentally ill and has been for several years. As I'm sure some of you know, mental illness is a terrible time in anyone's life.
This will be my only comment on a family matter.

Anytime we suspect that a child is being abused, we should call the DA's office, contact Mark Peterson or his assistant and report it. Then it is up to them to determine if something is in fact going on.
Our children are so innocent - so precious, so trusting. For an adult to abuse one of these innocents is dispicable.
I appreciate any person who wants to keep our children safe.

Well done Denny Crane! There are always two sides to every story. I don't know about all you folks, but I know in my family there are some messed up people. My own Mom is not above lying to gain attention.
We all are innocent, including Mr. Bishop, until proven guilty. Unfortunately, we live in a day where girls make false accusations all the time. If you don't believe that, check the court records.
I believe it has been said that all the law enforcement agencies in Texas have been involved in investigating this particular claim. Do you folks actually believe all of them are for the good ol boy instead of protecting our children?? If so, I feel sorry for you. Our Texas law enforcement agencies are remarkable and do outstanding jobs each and every day to protect you and yours. God bless them and keep them safe. I also pray for this entire family. They need our prayers.
