2016 Chicago Olympics...
It's a done deal!

Do you really believe President 0bama is going to Denmark to lobby for the 2016 Olympics, only to be denied? I think not! The decision has already been bought and paid for! He’s just setting the stage for yet another historic press conference proclaiming his greatness.

Can you imagine how it would destroy his political influence and celebrity status if he failed? I can’t conceive him proclaiming to the world, “No I couldn’t!”.

Our President is taking a tremendous amount of heat by putting Afghanistan and Iran on hold while jetsetting around the world to help out his Chicago gang. His advisors would never allow him to participate in such a highly publicized world-wide event if the outcome wasn’t already orchestrated.

Intelligent pundits and politicians may not come out and communicate this supposition, but they’re damn sure thinking it! If it’s not obvious, then you’re oblivious to progressive American politics. Hide and watch...

But, as always, I could be wrong…

I think Mark Davis came to the same conclusion that you did - it's a done deal and BHO needs something to crow (is that PC?) about.

Not as strident as Levin, Hannity, Limbaugh, et al, I still think it's pretty odd (OK, ridiculous) that our POTUS is going to Denmark as Lobbyist-in-Chief. Isn't that the normal purview of Commerce Secretary, or even SOS Clinton?

And the notion of double Secret Service details so that Michelle can go at a different time, well, hopefully such behavior will finally resonate and even his supporters will stop their blather about 8 years of this guy.

And some/many thought GWB was in over his head...

I've said "done deal" since the trip was announced. President Obama has to repay his Chicago cronies. This isn't about bolstering the economy of Chicago; this is about repaying his debts to those who paid his way through his political career.

One would think that Michelle Obama is intelligent and eloquent enough to have handled this trip on her own. That the President has joined the trip indicates to me that it's a done deal - he's not going to be embarrassed on an international stage. When it's announced he can bask in the afterglow as the adoring throngs say, "Yes he can!"

The President was gentlemanly enough not to let his wife take on the pressure of getting this done to repay his cronies...I think it's been made pretty clear to Mr. Obama that he owes them.

And Oprah...? She's there to write the checks. They say she's not there to speak to the committee...she's there to be available. Whatever that means. To mean it means she's got her checkbook with her.

I wish South America would be given "a turn" and let the games be set in Rio. Unless some international cartel with big bucks gets behind the Rio group and outbids/pays for this, they'll come in second, I assume. That's too bad.

President Obama has apologized many times to the rest of the world for the "arrogance" of the United States...and yet his direct participation in this matter is, to me, quite arrogant.
