Billy Graham's Rev. Joe Wright's
Prayer For Our Nation

THIS MAN SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance.

We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed inverted our values.

We confess that; we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it pluralism;

We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;

We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle;

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;

We have neglected the needy and called it self preservation;

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;

We have killed our unborn and called it choice;

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable;

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem;

We have abused power and called it politics political savvy;

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, oh God, and know our hearts today; try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse us from every sin and et us free.

Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God'.

EDIT: Rev. Joe Wright a Pastor at Central Christian Church in Wichita, KS read this prayer at the opening of the Kansas legislature January 23, 1996 which created a tremendous amount of controversy, not only in the House, but nationwide. I actually remember when this happened and completely agreed with every word of his prayer. I am personally guilty of many of the sins which he asked God's forgiveness.

I have been noticeably off my game lately, for which I apologize. I do not apologize for agreeing with the message in this prayer, but appreciate all of you who correct me when I make a mistake. Anyone who knows how difficult and time consuming it is to produce and maintain a worthwhile blog will understand. For those of you who fail to identify with my shortcomings, I invite you to visit another site you feel more deserving of your time...

God bless each & every one of you,

Denney Crane

DC -- the only short comings you have are between you and your wife.
Wow, hope a storm isn't brewing outside. I'll get struck down after such an eloquent pray as that. Sorry, I'd delete it but you know me better than that.
DC, as always BRAVO, to you SIR, BRAVO.
