Arlen Specter

I have purposely reserved my opinion on the Arlen Specter debacle in order to ponder and process this interesting twist of political maneuvering. This is the only move he could make to insure the Senator’s political survival. He knew winning the next Republican primary was virtually impossible without conservative support.

Good riddance, don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!

Why would anyone worry about giving democrats the sacred 60 votes in the Senate after he already cast the deciding vote for the porkulus bill. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. He is the favorite poster boy for Rino’s everywhere. His own constituents in Pennsylvania label him “Benedict Arlen”.

The GOP was in the process of putting this 79 year old disloyal horse out to pasture. Democrats will inject millions of dollars worth of campaign advertising steroids into the steed and lead him around the track another 4 years, allowing him enough public attention to feel relevant.
