Am I missing something? I thought human cloning is precisely the purpose of embryonic stem cell research. The second the human egg is fertilized, a human clone is created (human life?). The human embryo can then be studied, regenerated and genetically altered... dissected, so to speak.
The cells are alive until dissection, when life is terminated.
Human life begats' human rights - right? Didn't we have a civil war over human rights? How can morality stand in the way of science and medicine?

actually what he said was that we would he would not allow human cloning for the purpose of reproduction. He didn't take cloning for experimentation off the table. Killing babies is still alright with him.
