While I am not intimately familiar with the state limitations placed on eminent domain in the wake of the USSC ruling, my sense is that it probably was window dressing, and that abuses will continue.
Regarding the suppression of dissenting speech, one notes that Texas does not have an anti-SLAPP provision (nor is there one in Federal law, as I understand it). In the scheme of things, this might be more important than regulating the septic tank business.
Kudos for the use of the Woody Guthrie song.
Even though Woody was a bit left of me, I enjoy the song, probably from growing up hearing the Kingston Trio and PP&M versions of it.
