Proposed Congressional Bills

H.R. 1142 would require Medicare to pay for toupees.

H.R. 110 would amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit human cloning.

H.R. 15 would provide a program of national health insurance.

S. 451 would require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint coins in commemoration of the centennial of the establishment of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America.

H.R. 626 would provide that 4 of the 12 weeks of parental leave made available to a Federal employee shall be paid leave.

H.R. 40 would acknowledge the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and it would establish a commission to examine the institution of slavery, subsequently de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African-Americans, and to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies.

S. 388 would extend the termination date for the exemption of returning workers from the numerical limitations for temporary workers.

H.R. 1027 would exempt second-hand sellers of certain products from the lead content and certification requirements of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008.

S. 229 would empower women in Afghanistan.

H.R. 615 would amend the Federal Hazardous Substances Act to require engine coolant and antifreeze to contain a bittering agent so as to render it unpalatable.
